Crusoe and Lancium's Childress County campus is today's LVN AI data-center construction watch because the owner/developer roles, power path, site scale, construction timing, jobs, and cooling strategy are already public before most specialty packages are named. The joint Crusoe/Lancium announcement describes a 1 gigawatt grid-connected AI data-center campus on 270 acres in Childress County, Texas, with construction expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026.

Lancium's official project page says the Childress Clean Campus is under development and that the 1GW interconnect has completed a formal ERCOT review with transmission service providers. Lancium also says the campus will use integrated renewables, power orchestration, and closed-loop cooling designed to minimize additional water use after the system is filled.
The joint announcement adds behind-the-meter solar and energy storage resources, a closed-loop non-evaporative liquid-cooling system, direct investment in local water and civil infrastructure, thousands of construction jobs, and more than 100 long-term positions.
