Perform journeyman level installation of domestic water and drainage waste and vent systems including fixtures and equipment in large construction projects according to plumbing codes, contract documents, drawings and change orders. Provide technical guidance and direction to lower level employees. (Piping Material and joint type should be project specific and specified in requisition)
Job Post Qualifications/Requirements
Perfrom journeyman level installation of domestic water and drainage waste and vent systems including fixtures and equipment in large construction projects according to plumbing codes, contract documents, drawings and change orders. Provide technical guidance and direction to lower level employees. (Piping Material and joint type should be project specific and specified in requisition)
Current Medical Gas Installer Certification / Med Gas Plumbing License (per NFPA 99)
Thorough knowledge of NFPA 99, ASSE standards, and local/state plumbing codes
Proven experience installing, testing, repairing, and maintaining medical gas and vacuum systems (O₂, N₂O, medical air, vacuum, WAGD)
Skilled in brazing medical gas piping using silver solder and nitrogen purge procedures
Competent in system verification, pressure testing, cross-connection testing, and documentation
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and medical gas drawings
Experience working in healthcare environments (hospitals, clinics, labs) while maintaining infection-control protocols
Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail in safety-critical systems
Knowledge of piping materials including copper (Type K/L), valves, alarms, and zone boxes
OSHA-10/OSHA-30 safety training (preferred)
Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary construction team
Strong communication skills and commitment to compliance and patient safety
Summary of Job:
At the journeyman level, the applicant assembles installs and repairs pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes, studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required, and sequence of installations.

Collaborating with other members of the construction team to ensure plumbing systems are installed on time and within budget.
Ensuring all plumbing systems meet industry standards for quality and safety.
