Fiber Optic Technician – Ribbon Splicer (Abilene, TX)

We’re seeking skilled Ribbon Splicers with experience in high-count fiber work for a major telecom project in Abilene, Texas.

Responsibilities:
- Perform ribbon fusion splicing (12–48 fibers) using Fujikura, Sumitomo, or AFL equipment
- Prepare, clean, cleave, and organize fibers with precision
- Conduct OTDR and power meter testing, analyze and document results
- Install, dress, and manage ribbon cables in enclosures and panels
- Maintain proper safety and quality standards on-site

Requirements:
- Proven experience in ribbon splicing and fiber installation
- Knowledge of TIA/EIA color codes and industry best practices
- Ability to work in outdoor or confined environments
- Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills

Preferred Certifications:
- FOA CFOT – Certified Fiber Optic Technician
- FOA CFOS/S – Specialist in Splicing
- ETA Fiber Optics Installer (FOI)
- OSHA 10/30 – Safety certification
